Survivor 5 Pool: Tawni Wins!

This is the place for all of your Survivor 5 Pool information. Who got voted off? Who is leading in the Pool? Is Aaron cheating again this year? All your questions will be answered.

The Rules - Just like last year: confusing as hell!
The Survivors - Find out who was a UMD cheerleader and which one was an "adult" movie actor?
Last Season's results - Take a look back at how good (or bad) you did last season.

Episode 13
The show is over. Brian wins! The voting order went like this... Helen first, Jan second, leaving Clay and Brian as the final two. The final voting was close, 4-3 for Brain. It didn't hurt that Brian won the last three immunity challenges also. In the last and most important immunity challenge of the show, Brian, Clay, and Jan had to stand, legs spread and knees bet, while holding coins between their fingers until someone gave up. They lasted like 12 minutes. I tried it at home just to see how tough it was. My time: a minute, 30 seconds.

Final Standings
Tawni pulls it out in the end. She overcomes Matt during the final episode to win the Survivor 5 Pool. Congratulations to Tawni who will get a whopping $41 for first and Matt who will get $14 for second. And a big boo-hoo to Megan in third, who is just one place away from the money slots. :-) Thanks to everyone for playing this season.

Past Episode Reviews

Episode 1:

CBS was teasing that things would be different this season. There were alot of rumors that the tribes would be divided into a boy tribe and a girl tribe. They were all wrong. In a move that resembled a 5th grade kickball game, the eldest male (Jake) and eldest female (Jan) picked their own tribes one by one. Erin was picked last. (Yea, I was always picked last too. It sucks!) Jake's tribe, Sook Jai (pronounced "hand jive"), got all the young beautiful people. While Jan's tribe, Chuay Guhn (pronounced "Wang Chung"), ended up with a more rounded tribe age-wise. In the end, Chuay Guhn lost the immunity challenge and John was kicked off in the final vote. (Who could've seen that one coming!) ;-)

Episode 2:

OK, I've been real busy, we've been out of town, and my great Aunt died, so I can't really remember what happen on last Thursday's episode except that Tanya got voted off. (Just kidding about the great Aunt thing. But it sounded good, didn't it)

Episode 3:

Dr Jed, the dental student gets the axe this episode. He apparently did very little work and the rest of the tribe was pissed at him. I would have thought that Robb, the idiot skaterboy-hot head, was on the outs, but the vote was split between Shii Ann and Jed. So far, there have been no scenes showing anyone teaming up in alliances, but I can guarantee you that at least 2 exist in the Sook Jai tribe. Take a look at the Tribal Council results. I don't think Jake and Robb should get too comfortable. I can't wait to see what ignorant things Robb says next week.

Episode 4:

I'm usually one to vote for the underdogs, but I just can't get behind the Chuay Gahn tribe. There was too much drama going with the Ghandia/Ted problem and the tribe on the whole is just not as pretty as the Sook Jai's. I think that Helen and Brian are the only keepers out of the Chuay Gahn tribe. Especially since Helen broke the girl vs. boy alignment and voted for Ghandia. Hey, it's a million dollars. You do what you have to do, right? Anyway, Ghandia got the votes and was sent packing.

Episode 5:

Chuay Gahn: Ted forms an alliance with Brian. I'm just not sure that Brian formed an alliance with Ted. Ted said "Brian is committed to me till the end". Brian said "You gotta watch what you say to people out here" Not a real ringing endorsement from Brian. We'll see what happens. Sook Jai: Robb got stung by something in the surf and cried like a baby. I can't wait to see him voted off. Sook Jai looses the immunity challenge and Stephanie is voted off.

Episode 6:

It was a big night for Robb. He got into a fight with Ken, helped win the reward challenge, came to the big realization that life is more than just how much you make and getting wasted (It is!?), and did some serious bonding with his tribemates. Everyone noted that they liked this new and improved wool hat wearing skater-boy. And to repay him for his openness Sook Jai voted him off the island. Not that he seemed angry about it. He was all "Dude, I love you guys, man. You Rock!" at the end. You gotta wonder if after a day or two he was saying "What the...". In the Chuay Gahn tribe, the Brian and Ted alliance is taking shape. If I were them I'd bring in a third. Probably Helen. At this stage a two person alliance is pretty useless unless they've got something up there collective sleeves.

Episode 7:

Way too much to talk about this week. Shii Ann gets the axe.

Episode 8:

Not much of an episode, really. The two tribes are living together but still not merged. Sook Jai loses the immunity challenge and they decide to vote Erin off. The only juicy part of the episode is the fact that the Chuay Gahn members pee in their own cave. Lots of refreshing scenes of wet sand. Yum!

Episode 9:

OK, the merge has happened. They are all in one tribe under the name: Chuay Jai... or Tarutad. Not really sure, but that doesn't matter. If you haven't been watching the show so far, now would be a good time to start. Now is when all the fun starts and alliance strategy really pays off. The obvious alliances are currently tribe driven. Sook Jai's Ken, Jake, and Penny voted for Ted. And Chuay Gum's Brian, Ted, Helen, Jan, and Clay voted for Ken. (That's right, NYC is gone) The big question is: can the remaining 2 Sook Jai's find a crack in the Chuay Gum's armor and pull a few people over to their side. I think Jake and Penny's only hope is convince Helen and Jan that they will be the first to go once all the Sook Jai's are gone and pull them over into a secret alliance.

Episode 10:

I'd like to say that last night's episode was really good, or even really bad, but I didn't really watch it. So, I can't really say. Really. What I do know is that Penny got voted off. And from the looks of last night's voting I wouldn't start rooting for Jake or Clay any time soon. My current feeling on the final 3: Brain, Ted, and Helen.

Episode 11:

I feel that Survivor reached a new low (for them) in reality TV last night. They brought all the relatives in and had THEM eat bugs and spiders so that they could compete to hang out with their respective Survivor. Only the winner got to see their significant other. All the other relatives had to leave without even touching their loved ones. I would expect that of other low-end reality show, but was surprised by Survivor. Survivor later redeemed themselves by bring all the relatives out in the show to actually be able to touch their loved ones. And in a move that should have surprised no one, the Chuay Gahn's voted off Jake, the last Sook Jai.

Episode 12:

Now that only Chuay Gahn members are left on the island things are starting to get interesting. The once solid alliance between Brian and Ted fell apart and Ted got voted out. I was a bit surprised. I thought Clay was on the outs for sure. (Is Brian getting rid of the other strong players on the team?) That leaves Clay, Jan, Helen, and Brian. Brian is a very shrewd player and I think he deserves the million in the final vote over any of the other three. That's if he can make it to the final two without the other players banding together to get rid of him (which I think is a STRONG possibility). Brian better win those immunity challenges. My bet is that Brian gets Clay and Jan to vote off Helen next. And then he'll try to get into the final two with Clay. The Clay vs. Brian final vote has the best odds for Brian and I'm sure he knows that.
